Thomas Jerome Newton arrives in America to fulfill a secret mission and soon becomes one of the richest and most powerful man, without anyone knowing how. He finds a man willing to discover his secret and a woman who will love him to madness. Many try to prevent him from carrying out his mission, but it is difficult, because no one knows what it is. And Newton sees the others as they had never seen themselves. As if they belonged to different worlds.
