Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Glocal in Progress, San Sebastian Festival’s new industry activity, opens its call for submissions, closing on June 30. The event will run on September 25, 26 and 27, coinciding with Films in Progress 32 and the VI Europe-Latin America Co-production Forum.
Intended for European productions in non-hegemonic languages, Glocal in Progress consists of screening a selection of three feature films at the post-production stage to an audience of producers, distributors, sales agents and programmers, among other professionals, who can contribute to their completion and international circulation.
The objective is to lend greater visibility to European productions in non-hegemonic languages (i.e. not shot in English, French, German, Italian, Russian or Spanish), foster collaborations and promote the co-production and circulation of these films.
The films selected for Glocal in Progress will compete for the Glocal in Progress Industry Award. Presented by the companies Deluxe Spain, Dolby Iberia, Laserfilm Cine y Video, Nephilim Producciones and No Problem Sonido, this award consists in the post-production services listed in the Award rules for the winning film.
Furthermore, the Glocal in Progress Award with its €10,000 will go to the majority producer of the film winning the Glocal in Progress Industry Award.
With this initiative, the Festival strengthens its pledge to creation, started in 2002 with Films in Progress, a pioneering industry activity in its day, which has enabled the completion of Latin American productions and has been joined, since 2012, by the Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum for European and Latin American audiovisual projects in development.
