Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Aulona Selmani (Binningen, Switzerland) grew up in Kosova, where she began writing short stories and poems at the age of eight. In 2015, she started studying at the University of Pristina. During her studies, she gained experience working as a freelancer in the local film industry. After obtaining her Bachelor's degree, Aulona continued her education at Zurich University of the Arts (ZHDK), where she earned a Master’s degree in directing in June 2023.
She has written and directed short films including Pariah State (2020); And The Wind Weeps (2023), which competed in Nest at the San Sebastian Festival, won the Nagroda New Europe Talents Award at the 18th International Short Film Festival in Bialystok, showcased at the Solothurner Filmtage in Switzerland and competed at the Max Ophüls Festival; and Si Në Vaj (2023), which premiered at the Gässli Festival, winning both the SRG Best Director and Audience Awards, and later received the Best Medium-Length Film Award at the Pristina International Film Festival and Best Short Film at the Tirana International Film Festival.
She is currently working on her feature directorial debut, Serra. As an actress, she will star in the upcoming feature film The White Club, directed by Michele Pennetta.
