On 28 September 2023, Mexican filmmaker Lila Avilés gave a masterclass at the Tabakalera cinema after the screening of her second feature film, Tótem, which was part of the Horizontes Latinos section after competing at the last Berlinale. Avilés presented her first film, La camarista / The Chambermaid (2018) in the New Directors section, and this year she chaired the jury for the Nest The Mediapro Studio Award at the 71st San Sebastian Festival.
