Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Cecilia Barrionuevo is a Programmer at large for Film at Lincoln Center, responsible for Seminars and International Relations at ECAM / Escuela de Cine y Audiovisual de Madrid, and a Professor at EQZE / Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola.
She served as the Artistic Director of the Mar del Plata International Film Festival during the 2018 - 2021 editions and was part of the programming team for over a decade. She has worked as a programmer for Neighboring Scenes: New Latin American Cinema at Film at Lincoln Center (USA), a consultant at AntofaCine (Chile), and a guest curator at the Harvard Film Archive (USA), Documenta Madrid (Spain) for two editions. She has also curated special programs for UNIONDOCS - Center for Documentary Art (USA), MACBA - Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Buenos Aires (Argentina), Museo Reina Sofía (Spain), and La Casa Encendida (Spain), among others.
She works as a guest professor and mentor in international seminars and workshops at film schools, universities, film festivals, and cultural programs, including Wellesley College, Universidad de San Andrès, Universidad de Córdoba, Universidad Pompeu Fabra, Universidad Autònoma de Barcelona, Academia del Cine Española, Sensory Ethnography Lab at Harvard, MassART, and Locarno Industry Academy.
She has been a member of project selection committees at ICAA / Instituto de la Cinematografía y de las Artes Audiovisuales de España, ICAU / Dirección del Cine y Audiovisual Nacional de Uruguay, and ACE / Association of European Cinematheques. She has been part of the Advisory Board of the Film Study Center at Harvard University and has served as a jury member at international festivals such as Berlinale, FIDMarseille, Ficunam, and Jeonju International Film Festival.
In 2020, she was awarded the honorary title of Chevalier of the Arts and Letters by the Ministry of Culture of France.
