Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
With extensive experience in film and television production, Izaskun Arandia (Tolosa, Gipuzkoa) worked for well-known media companies (TwoFour, Discovery Channel, BAFTA) before founding IZAR Films in the UK, where she produced and wrote her first feature film documentary To Say Goodbye (Matt Richards), which premiered at the San Sebastian Film Festival in 2012 (Zinemira).
Now based in the Basque Country since 2013, Izaskun has produced and directed a body of work that spans from short films, feature length documentaries to webseries. Of note are the multi award-winning documentary webseries I Am Who I Am (2019) and her debut in feature film directing, the documentary My Way Out (2022), currently in distribution. As a producer, also mentionable is the successful feature documentary Non dago Mikel? (Amaia Merino, M.A. Llamas, Zinemira, 2021).
She has been a jury member in film festivals such as: Film Festival for Children and Youth (ECFA Award), Zinegoak, FICMA, FANT, Huhezinema and ZINEBI.
She is also the founding member and current co-president of (H)emen, the Basque Audiovisual Women’s Association and is a visiting film professor at Mondragon University.
She is currently working on the production of various short films, Azkena (by Lorea Lyons, Ane Landeta) and Bloque 16 (by Nagore Eceiza) and is developing the feature documentary If You Wish to Make an Apple Pie (by Nagore Eceiza).
