Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
The Nosferatu season dedicated to San Sebastian Festival's 70th anniversary (1953-2022), started in January of this year with the screening of Une histoire de vent (A Tale of the Wind, 1988), the last film directed by the veteran Dutch documentary-maker Joris Ivens, will return to Tabakalera on October 5.
The third trimester of Nosferatu Zinemaldia 70, organised by Donostia Kultura, Filmoteca Vasca and the San Sebastian Festival, with the collaboration of Tabalakera and the Institut Valencià de Cultura-Filmothèque of the Valencian Generalitat, will see the screening of eleven films shown in the Festival Programme between 1988 and 2010, which join the 26 already screened before summer.
As usual, tickets will go on sale every month on the Tabakalera website, from the 15th of the previous month, starting on September 15, when tickets will go on sale for the October screenings.
The season will be accompanied by two books, one in Spanish and the other in Basque, taking their inspiration from the history of the Festival. The first, Zinemaldia 1953-2022. Singularidades del Festival de Donostia / San Sebastián, no. 18 in the Nosferatu Collection, coordinated by Quim Casas, was published in January. The second, written by Katixa Agirre, no. 10 in the Nosferatu Bilduma, will come out in the month of November.
