Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Paula Arantzazu Ruiz Rodríguez (Barcelona) graduated as a Doctor in Social Communication from the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona with a thesis on the experimental Italian filmmakers Yervant Ganikian and Angela Ricci Lucchi in relation with the visual culture of medicine.
As a film journalist and critic, she collaborates in Cinemanía, Diari Ara, Cine con Ñ and So Film, as well as belonging to the Catalan Association of Film Critics and Writers, FIPRESCI and the Filmmakers’ Union. Her latest publications on the cinema include the omnibus works La paranoia contemporánea. El cine en la sociedad de control (Trea, 2019) and Zinemaldia 1953-2022. Singularidades del Festival de Donostia / San Sebastián (Donostia Kultura; Filmoteca Vasca; San Sebastian Festival, 2022).
She also teaches on the subject of History of Science at the University of Murcia. Her research work in this field has materialised in the omnibus volumes Cuerpos representados. Objetos de ciencia artísticos en España, siglos XVIII-XX (Sans soleil, 2020) and Foucault y la medicina. La verdad muda del cuerpo (Morata, 2022), co-published with Salvador Cayuela Sánchez.
