Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Jorge Cantos (Madrid, 1987) completed his studies at the ECAM with the short film Take away (2016), premiered at Malaga Festival and winner of Best Short Film at FICUNAM (Mexico). With his second fiction short, Günst ul vándrafoo, (Gusts of Wild Life, 2019), among other awards, he won the Grand Prix in the LABO section of Clermont-Ferrand Festival, the Silver Biznaga for Best Director in Malaga and Best National Short Film Award at the Mecal. He is also responsible for growing work around dance and the body, Georges & Jules, made with the company Kor’sia. He has directed documentaries in short format such as Dôtenh (Dudas, 2015), Pròt (Poda, 2016) and Utopiazaleek bakarrik bizirik iraungo dute (Solo sobrevivirán los utopistas, 2018), the latter on commission for NEST. In the last year he has developed, within the Residencies Progamme of the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences what will be his debut film, Los vagabundos. He is currently preparing to shoot the short film Se nos hizo de noche, a project with which he won the Movistar+ Proyecto Corto Award at the Cinemajove festival.
