Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Maider Oleaga (Bilbao, Spain. 1976) has a degree in Audiovisual Communication as well as a diploma in film directing (ECAM); in 2014, she furthered her studies with the Master’s degree in Feminist and Gender Studies (UPV). She has directed the documentaries Amaren ideia (2009), Esperanza (2012), Verabredung (Iragan Gunea Berlin, 2017), winner of the Doc España section at the SEMINCI and Muga deitzen da Pausoa (2018), premiered at Gijon Festival in 2018. She participated with this project in the first edition of the Ikusmira Berriak artist residency. These two latter films also screened in the Zinemira section of the San Sebastian Festival. She has written and directed the fictional short films Neoi argiak ederrenean, part of the anthology film Gure Oroitzapenak (2018), presented in Zinemira, and Sitios prestados al aire (2011), winner of the IMCINE Short Film Projects Competition (Mexico). She participates in numerous education projects, such as Cinema en Curs and Zineleku and collaborates with the Elías Querejeta Film School. She is currently completing the documentary western Kuartk Valley (2020) while working on research, involving various projects, into film creation as an embodied process.
