Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Despite a long prestigious career stretching back over six decades the great stage and film actress, Judy Dench, said that she still can’t bear to turn down a role, in case she never got offered another. “I’m still a jobbing actor after 61 years.”
At the press conference she gave yesterday shortly before receiving the third of this year’s Donostia prizes, she confessed that as a child she had really wanted to be a theatre designer rather than an actress. But after seeing a performance of King Lear in Stratford with a groundbreaking set, she realised that she would never be able to create something like that and decided to follow her brother into drama school. She later went on to establish herself as one of the leading theatrical actresses at both the National Theatre Company and the Royal Shakespeare Company. “I only ever wanted to do theatre and Shakespeare and I fulfilled a great dream.”
It was only after this that she also moved into cinema, as she wasn’t really interested in films. “I knew nothing about it and had to learn from watching my peers".
