Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
El amor menos pensado was the Argentine film that was the first to be screened at the 66th San Sebastián Film Festival. Its director Juan Vera and stars Ricardo Darín and Mercedes Morán answered questions at a press conference that they gave after the film had been shown yesterday in the Official Selection. Vera explained that he had begun writing the script together with Daniel Cúparo four years ago and that he had always imagined Darín and Morán in the leading roles. “I see them in the film saying their lines and I have the impression that they are not texts that I wrote but seem to be living dialogues that just flow out of them.” Ricardo Darín stressed that they had tried to make things less dramatic in order to be more sincere and honest, something that he thought was essential. Mercedes Morán added that nothing in the film was overplayed, and that her character was far from being unsatisfied and hysterical.
