Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Imma Merino Serrat has a Degree in Philosophy from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and is a Doctor in Communication from the Pompeu Fabra University, having written her doctoral thesis on "Subjectivitat i autorepresentación en el cinema d'Agnès Varda." She is a professor of Film History and Media Analysis at the University of Girona and of Creative Documentary on the Master in Contemporary Film and Audiovisual Studies at the Pompeu Fabra University. Since 1989 she has been a film critic and cultural journalist with the daily El Punt (now El Punt /Avui). She also writes for other publications, and does so regularly for the cultural magazine L'Avenç. She has participated in numerous collective books, such as En torno a la Nouvelle Vague. Rupturas y horizontes de la modernidad, Al otro lado de la ficción: Trece documentalistas españoles, Realidad y creación en el cine de no-ficción, Paisaje y figuras: perplejos. El nuevo cine alemán 1962-1982 and Derivas del cine europeo contemporáneo, as well as in monographic works on Jacques Demy, François Truffaut, Max Ophüls and Jacques Becker. She is preparing publication of the book Pensar una pel·lícula: Carol, which will assemble texts by different authors about the film by Todd Haynes. She is a member of the Girona Association of Film Critics, which manages and programmes the Truffaut Cinema.
