Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Karmelo Vivanco has a degree in Information Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and is a founding partner of the Baleuko production company. He is a member of the Spanish Academy of Cinematic Arts and Sciences and of Ibaia-Association of Independent Audiovisual Producers of the Basque Country. Notable among the titles produced by Baleuko are the animated films Megasónicos (Javier González de la Fuente, José Martínez Montero, 1998), the first European film in 3D and winner of the Goya for Best Animated Film, Olentzero, un cuento de Navidad (Juanjo Elordi, 2002), Los Balunis (Juanjo Elordi, 2004), Betizu eta urrezko zintzarria (Betizu and the Golden Cowbell, Egoitz Rodríguez, 2007) and The Wish Fish (Ivan Oneka, Gorka Vázquez, 2012), all nominated for the Best Animated Film Goya. The company has also produced live action feature films including A escondidas, (Hidden Away, Mikel Rueda, 2014), Las manos de mi madre (My Mother’s Hands, Mireia Gabilondo, 2013), Estrellas que alcanzar (Stars to Wish Upon, Mikel Rueda, 2010) or Eutsi! (Alberto J. Gorritiberea, 2007) and the mini series Gernika bajo las bombas (Luis Marías, 2012), as well as numerous documentaries, among which are Los esclavos vascos del III Reich (2002), Euskadi 1936, una nación al límite (2006), Jorge Oteiza, 1908-2008... y sigo (2008) or Gurs: 70 años del infierno vasco (2010).
