Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
The author Itxaro Borda published her first work, the collection of poems Bizitza nola badoan, in 1984, together with the Maiatz association. She has alternated the publication of poetry books and novels, and has developed a long career in the field of Basque literature.
Among her most outstanding works are: Udaran betaurreko beltzekin (1987, Txertoa), Urtemuga lehorraren kronika (1989, Maiatz), Bestaldean (1992), Orain (1999, Susa), Hiruko (2003, Alberdania) and Zeruetako erresuma (2005, Susa). From 1994 to 2015 she published five investigations by Amaia Ezpeldoi, lesbian detective, in the Susa and Maiatz editorials.
In 2002 she received the Euskadi Literary Award for the novel % 100 Basque (Susa). Several of her novels and many of her poems have been translated into different languages, and it is the author herself who translates her works into French. She has been contributing to the Basque press since 1977 (Herria, Argia, Egin, Gara, Berria, etc.), as well as writing the words of songs for several groups. Her latest work, the play Odolak su gabe diraki, saw the light in 2017, brought out by Maiatz.
She studied History at Pau University. Her work as a postwoman led her to live in Paris and Mauléon. Since then, she has set down roots in Baiona, from where she continues to write.
