The director Lee Sang-il and actor Ken Watanabe gave a press conference after the screening of the Japanese crime drama Rage in the Official Section yesterday. As far as the title was concerned, they both stressed that the film wasn’t really about anger, but had more to do with the lack of trust between people. They explained that the characters’ anger was directed inwardly towards them-selves because they didn’t trust other people and that it was a kind of rage that couldn’t be ex-pressed so it had to be internalised. Ken Watanabe said that as he usually played powerful righteous men, he found it difficult at first to portray such an indecisive insecure character, and con-fessed that it was really demanding working with Sang-Il, who he had already collaborated with on his two previous films.
