The Spanish actor Ruben Ochandiano has worked with some of the most important directors on the international film scene and has come to San Sebastián to form part of the Horizontes Latinos jury. “I think that being on the Horizontes jury is a real treat, because it’s an invitation to not only enjoy watching a lot of films but also to exchange opinions and projects, and especially to experience cinema at your leisure.”
He’s very critical with the current state of the Spanish film industry and not very optimistic about the immediate future. “I don’t know how they could do things better, but I have the feeling that our government doesn’t care for us much; as well as this business of the 21% VAT rate, which is a real blow for the industry, I think that there’s very little interest I cinema.”
