Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
The 14th International Film Students meeting will be held for the first time at the recently- opened International Centre for International Culture where film school students from Germany, Argentina, Belgium, Cuba, Slovakia, Spain, Israel, Mexico, Holland, Great Britain, Rumania and Switzerland will have the chance to show their work while 3 more shorts will be shown out of competition. One of the great advantages of the Meeting is that it gives young directors the chance to debate among themselves and to attend masterclasses by professionals. This year these will include one given by the Islandic director Benedikt Erlingsson who will also be chairing a jury that will be awarding several awards and will also be selecting three directors who will be given the opportunity to take part with their films at the Short Film Corner at Cannes.
