Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Uberto Pasolini has excellent memories of his first visit to the Festival back in 1997 when he presented Full Monty here as a producer. He fondly recalls the discussions with the audience at a festival that he is really fond of and would come back to whenever he could: “Here it’s the audience that makes the difference”.
During a period of more than 30 years Pasolini has not only worked as a producer but has also directed two films Marchan, and Still Life, which won the Orizzonti award for best director at Venice. He thinks that having had experience in both fields also enables him to assess films from various perspectives. The fact is that he feels that he is much more critical having directed films, because he is more aware of what a filmmaker has to do and he focuses more on the technical details, but at the same time he appreciates how difficult it is to manage to convey emotions and communicate what you want.
