Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).

The director, Asier Altuna, the singer, Anari Alberdi, and the general manager of Donostia 2016, Itziar Nogeras, are the members of the Irizar Award Jury that will be deciding on the best previously unreleased Basque film. Not only the films being screened in Zinemira, but also the Basque films being shown in any of the other sections of the Festival are competing for this award. Altogether seven films will be competing for a prize worth 20,000 Euros.
The three jurors all agree on the quality of what they have seen up to now and are right in the middle of the process of analyzing all this and sharing opinions. Documentaries and fictional films are competing for the same award which could make things more difficult, but although they come from different fields, they are sure that they will be able to reach an agreement.
