The Argentine producer Fernanda del Nido runs the production company Tic Tac Producciones in A Coruña which produces documentaries and feature films.
She has been behind projects that have formed part of Films in Progress and then later competed in Horizontes Latinos and feels utterly part of the cinema in the Horizontes section as she works with directors on both sides of the Atlantic.
She’s optimistic about the current state of Latin American cinema, and thinks that now that things are getting more difficult here, the Spanish could learn from what they are doing in Latin America, especially in Chile in Colombia where they have made a clear commitment not just to quality but also to independent directors and producers. “Perhaps you don’t need so much to achieve a lot,” she says.
