The episode Larga noche de transistores y teléfonos (Long night of transistors and telephones) describes the experiences of the Alcántara family during the events of 23 February 1981. At last Antonio and Mercedes have achieved their dream of visiting Venice; they are blissfully unaware of the situation as they enjoy their romantic break on the Italian canals. But their bubble bursts immediately they set foot on Spanish ground and learn that a group of Civil Guards, commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Tejero, have taken the Congress.
