Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Born in 1960, Petter Næss is a film and television actor, scriptwriter and director. In 1999, he directed his first feature, Absolutt blåmandag (Absolute Hangover). His second film, Elling (2001), presented in the Zabaltegi-New Directors section of the San Sebastian Festival the same year, was a huge hit in its home country, Norway, and was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Having signed a contract with 20th Century-Fox, in 2005 he filmed Mozart and the Whale. His latest films are Maskeblomstfamilien (Shameless, 2010) and Into the White (2012).
