Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
In Le Capital Costa-Gavras tells the story of an ambitious executive who becomes the chairman of a powerful bank almost by accident and ends up being seduced by power to serve the speculative interests of an American lobby.
The filmmaker stressed that all the speculative activities that he shows in his film, “carried out by bankers are perfectly legal. We need to regulate the sector but given that in the English-speaking world there are no clear rules, it’s really difficult for the European banks to compete without degenerating into speculation.”
Stéphane Osmont, the author of the book that inspired the film, explains that speculation is a really tempting option if we bear in mind that in the US and GB there is an entire sector based on speculation that provides jobs for 10% of the working population.”
