Urtain recreates the life of the ex-European heavyweight champion who, despite his great fame and popularity, lost his life precisely due to success. Taking this as its starting point, the film proceeds to look at the myth, delving into his roots set around a boxing ring construed in dramatic space fashion where the actors unfold into a variety of characters and demeanours tinged with sadness and humour. Urtain is also a window to society under Franco seen through the figure of the mythical Basque boxer.Director
