The Canadian actress Sarah Polley is here in San Sebastian to present Take this Waltz, her second film as a director which was screened yesterday in the Official Section. She said that the title of the film had come from the Leonard Cohen song that she had been listening to when she was writing the script. She also acknowledged that she had been influenced to a certain extent by the Catalan filmmaker, Isabel Coixet, who she worked with on The secret life of words. “She’s been a big influence for me because there are very few models for female directors.”
