Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
The Argentine director Diego Lerman’s third film, which is being screened in the Horizontes Latinos section, is set at the Colegio Nacional in Buenos Aires in 1982.Ateacher who spies on the pupils in order to report them to the authorities serves as a pretext to show what Lerman defines as “the atmosphere that you could feel at the end of the Argentine dictatorship.”
The director has set the action in the year he was born and he reconstructs the day that Galtieri
declared the Falklands War. The film stars Julieta Zylberberg and Oscar Nuñez without whom the director claims the project couldn’t have been made. The film has already been shown at Cannes, and Lerman will now be taking it to festivals in Biarritz, Warsaw, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo and it will also be going out on general in twelve countries.
