Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
For the second year running, the Velodrome will become an enormous 3D cinema during the San Sebastian Festival with Despicable Me, the first 3D animated production from Universal. Florentino Fernández and Ana de Armas, who dubbed the main roles in Spanish, will introduce the film at the Velodrome.Almost 3,000 viewers at each screening will be able to enjoy the experience of watching films in three dimensions as part of an enormous audience on a giant screen measuring 400 m2.
As usual, the Velodrome will also be the venue for the Closing Session, which will include a broadcast of the Closing Gala, the screening of the films closing the Official Selection and Zabaltegi-Pearls, and a visit from all of the prize-winners; and Big Films for the Kids, which every morning during the Festival will give children the chance to enjoy a film on the enormous screen in a programme specifically for primary and secondary schools. This year these kids
will be treated to the film Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang dubbed into Basque.
