This is love is a German film by Matthias Glasner, starring the Danish actor Jens Albinus, who often works with Lars von Trier, and the German actress Corinna Harfouch.The film tells two stories: one about an alcoholic policewoman who has been abandoned by her husband and another about a trafficker in Vietnamese girls who ends up growing fond of one of them. When asked at the press conference he gave after the screening of the film yesterday whether the two stories really had anything to do with each other, the director replied that “the film has two layers with two stories in which the characters are linked by the pain they suffer and as a result of the empathy established through their hellish personal experiences, they support each other in their suffering. They are two stories that complement each other.”
