The Mexican actor, Daniel Giménez Cacho, has just finished shooting La Lección de Pintura in Chile and has come to San Sebastián to form part of the Official Section Jury. He claims he’s here at the Festival for purely cinematic reasons: it’s a great opportunity for him to see a lot of great films that are not going to be released in Mexico. “The Festival is an exceptional opportunity to see what they are doing in the world, and this is really enriching”.
He confesses he is impressed by the diversity of his fellow jury members who work in such a wide variety of genres, which he thinks will help them to be really objective.

He also thinks that the Latin Horizons section is an incredibly important showcase for a different kind of cinema, given that Latin American films are often stifled by the big Hollywood productions. The Festival is an exceptional opportunity to see what they are doing in the world».
