The actress and singer Leonor Watling is delighted with her experience as a member of the Official Jury as she claims, ”I was convinced they were never going to ask me again because something always came up in September.”
She trained as a dancer but switched to theatre classes and at the age of 16 got a part in a film by Pablo Lorca and then in several TV series. She liked acting but didn’t like working in cinema as she thought it was really complicated and boring. Even so she confesses that it does get you hooked.
When choosing whether to accept a role, she looks for a mixture of things: “It’s like falling in love.” In any case, “you build up a career according to what you are offered, but you don’t choose to work with Almodóvar or Isabel Coixet..They’re the ones that call you!”
She’s recently taken a lot of supporting roles because lately she hasn’t had any really interesting opportunities to play leading roles. Nevertheless, she’d love to play a really complex leading role that would stretch her.
