Jaime Rosales’eagerly awaited film, Tiro en la cabeza, based on the true story of two Civil Guards murdered by members of ETA last winter in Cap Breton, France, created a lot of controversy and split reactions among the audience that saw it yesterday in the Official Section.At the press conference that followed the screening of the film, the director said that he hadn’t intended to reflect on Basque society. All he had done was make a fictional film based on real events that he hoped might be useful. He emphasised that he had tried to help to overcome the Basque problem with a positive hopeful new idea: the only way to reach a solution is by considering the other side as someone who may also have something to contribute to our own way of looking at things, however difficult this might be.
