Gustave Kervern and Benoît Delépine, the Belgian directors of Louise-Michel have worked in TV satire, comics and other surreal humorous formats, so it was hardly surprising that when they appeared at a press conference yesterday they announced that they’d be giving a leg of ham to the journalist who asked the best question. After thanking the Festival organisers for choosing a comedy for the Official Section, the directors said they were proud that their film wasn’t like any of the others. The anarchic tone of their film also extended to their shooting style and the way they direct their actors: “we just do things to people in front of a camera.
