Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Iván Trujillo, born in 1954, graduated as a biologist from the UNAM (Autonomous University of Mexico) Faculty of Sciences. He later studied film at the University Centre for Film Studies (CUEC) in the same institution, where he now teaches History of Documentary Films.
As a filmmaker he has made a series of nature documentaries, winning the 1988 Ariel for best documentary short with Mariposa Monarca… adivinanzas para siempre.
In 1980, he started working at the UNAM Film Archive and, from 1989 until today, has been Director General of Film Activities at the same university.
Since then, he has given several conferences on different aspects of cinema, has been a jury member at different international festivals and has curated important Mexican film seasons abroad.
In April 1999, he was elected President of the International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF), becoming the first Spanish-speaking President in its over 60 years of history, a position he continued to hold until June 2003.
In May 1999, he was decorated with the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres by the French Government and in 2006 he received the Encomienda al Mérito Civil from the Spanish Government.
