Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Born in 1952 in Paris, and a film lover since he was teenager, he became a critic at the age of 32. Before that he worked in various jobs always connected with culture and films. His obvious left-wing political affiliations, like many young people from his generation, led him to show an interest in the problems of Latin America (Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Cuba) which had a huge impact on his life. He worked in a Parisian district as a sociocultural organizer putting on film sessions and jazz concerts.
In 1982 he began to work as a journalist for “Libération”.Two years later he became a film critic and commentator for the same newspaper. Despite having a soft spot for classic Hollywood films, for fifteen years he has been passionately devoted to Spanish and Latin American cinema, being especially fond of certain Mexican, Argentine and Brazilian films.
