Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Born in Vitoria in 1935. He began producing shorts before moving on to the feature films La playa de los perros, by José Fonseca e Costa, Loco veneno, by Miguel Hermoso, and A tiro limpio, by Jesús Mora. He was a consultant for the National Film Department from 1983 to 1988, when he accepted the post of Director of the Audiovisual Section of the State Corporation for the Fifth Centenary Celebrations at which he held his position from 1988 to 1993. On leaving this job he became manager of the company for the Study and Development of Audiovisual Affairs (SEDA).
He has been a member of various juries and committees, including the Jury of the Huesca Short Film Festival in 1994 and the International Jury at the Latin American Film Festival “Our Essence” in Providence (USA) in 1995. He was a member of the Ministry of Culture ICAA jury awarding grants for the creation of film scripts in both its first call and subsequently in 2002-2003.
