Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Moroccan director, born in 1948 in Tangiers. Having studied Arts and graduated from the IDHEC Film School in Paris, she produced Jilali Ferhati’s Une brèche dans le mur in 1978. In 1979 she started working as a scriptwriter with Poupées de roseaux, also directed by Ferhati. Eight years later she made her directorial debut with Une porte sur le ciel, screened at numerous international festivals and programmed in this year’s thematic retrospective, “Amongst Friends and Neighbours”.
Since then she has written the script for Abderrahman Tazi’s À la recherche du mari de ma femme, 1992; the play “Aide-toi, le ciel t’aidera”, 1997, intended to raise awareness about the problem of maternal mortality; the short film Sur la terrasse, 1995; the film Keïd Ensa/Ruses de femmes, considered best film of the year 1999 in her country; the TV movies Nia taghleb, in 2000, and El Boukma, in 2001. Her latest film is Casablanca, Casablanca, 2002.
