With the death of the chief of the hourabat tribe, the council of elders reveals to his two heirs, the orgins of the wealth of the tribe: the sarcophagus of the Pharaons which, together with their treasures, remained hidden for centuries and at all times guarded by members of the tribe, which on occasion, "collect" part of this treasure to ensure the group's survival. One of the brothers rebels because of what he considers a scareligious pillage and is murdered. The other, Wannis, is less impulsive, more hesitant, meditative; he ends up turning in the mummies to an archeologist wisiting the city. Thus an entire world including its ancient history, collapses.
