The Starret's son, Joey, sees a stranger carrying a gin with a pearl-encrusted butt riding in. Joe, Joey's father, invites him to stay in his ranch and from then on a deep friendship grown between them. But there is a storm ahead. On one side, the owner of the neightbouring ranch wants all the land of the surrounding countryside for his cattle; on the other, Joe will discover that Marian, his wife, and the stranger, are attracted to one another.
