Carlos María, owner of a funeral home and an actor in his spare time, lives totally submissive to his mother. The presence of his dead father is felt throughout the house. The arrival of a newly married couple causes the mother to spend days and nights spying on them. Young people, carefree, passionately love each other. The mother tries to implicate Carlos María to expel them. Desperate for a failure as an actor, he returns home. Instigated by his mother, he prepares to kill the youngsters. The shot of a rifle is heard in the night.
