Two friends, Paul and Erwin, belong to the band of children of the inner yard of house nº 67. Paul's father is unemployed and his family is in trouble. This is why Paul is not enthusiastic about Erwin's idea to organize a fancy dress ball in the yard. During the preparation of the feast, the situation of Paul's family is getting more and more serious. They have no money left to pay the rent. The ball is declared to be a benefit feast. And Erwin is able to announce that the receipts will pay the rent of the Richters. One year later, in 1933, the band of nº 67 inner yard no longer exists.
