Bittersweet analysis of New York's Manhattan neighbourghood's life through the story of Isaac David, TV screenwriter who, discontent with his job, decides to quit and dedicate himself to literature. Isaac suffers remorse due to his relationship with Tracy, a seventeen-year-ol schoolgirl, and ends feeling attracted by Mary, his best friend's partner.
