Mikolaj Screbrny, a ten year-old boy whose personality has been developing without conventional hurdles in an old country house in which he lives with his parents, faces a reality full of lies and hypocrisy when, one day, he's removed from his isolation and sent to school. Mikolaj fights for keeping his individuality, but life doesn't help him. After the death of his father, looks for refuge -without finding it- in his sick mother. Soon new problems will arise: the misteries of sex. Years go by and Mikolaj returns to his father's house...
