A painter and his gypsy wife return to Granada, the city where she was born and where she left due to problems with an old gypsy boyfriend who swore revenge. Now the husband wants to paint a portrait of his wife in the city where they met. But things do not go as expected when Manuel suddenly appears at home. Years later, the daughter of the painter and the gypsy becomes María de la O., an artist of flamenco dance.
