A group of pilgrims going to Canterbury entertain themselves by telling stories: the young Nicola conquers the wife of a rich woodcutter taking advantage of his superstition; two students take revenge on a miller who steals flour from his customers; the innocent Perkin is expelled from his village and ends up ruined; an insatiable widow of Bath destroys her husbands with her ardor to inherit her goods; A rich and old bachelor decides to marry the very young Maggio, who betrays him with a beautiful young man. Meanwhile, a clerk takes note of the events, analyzing human weaknesses with humor and irony.
