Synopsis
Director

Heinrich von Kleist has fought with his writtings against Napoleon. In paris, his sister Ulrike, a woman with masculine characteristics, tries to be a man for his brother's love sake. But Kleist leaves for Switzerland with his friend Pfuel. Kleist burns his work, works with a carpenter and ends up with Ulrike and Pfuel. In the gates to Berlin, the frenchmen detein him as spy and lock him at Joux Fountains where he writes the most important part of his wokr, before dying according to his times and romantic ideas.
