Sebastián Arache arrives at a village in the interior, immersed in superstition and fear, of which he only has references by stories of his mother. There he meets Ana Tamayo, a woman who is the living memory of the people, the cacique Juan Gregorio Valdés and other beings who live miserably. Sebastian must face a series of opposing forces.
