The 40s. As a result of the WWII, Casablanca was a city that people from all sides had fled from Nazism: getting there was easy, but getting out was almost impossible, especially the name of the fugitive was on the Gestapo lists , which put pressure on the French authorities under the corrupt inspector Renault.
