Director

Adaptation of Carmen, a novel by the French writer Prosper Merimée, in which Bizet was inspired to compose the opera of the same name. Set in Seville, in 1820, during the reign of Fernando VII (1814-1833). Carmen, a young gypsy woman who works in a cigar factory, falls head over heels in Lieutenant Don José.
