Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
The Ten Years of Ikusmira Berriak cycle, jointly organised by the Festival, Tabakalera and Elias Querejeta Zine Eskola, proposes an exploration and celebration, in retrospect, of the ten years of the Ikusmira Berriak film residency. The first session will feature a screening of the short film El extraño (2016, 25') and the feature film El gran movimiento (2021, 85'), directed by Pablo Álvarez and Kiro Russo respectively.
Synopsis:
El extraño: Partly a symphony of a city, partly an experimental film and, to some extent, a fake documentary. A collage of images and stories converge in the diffuse (re)construction of an absent and anonymous man. A stranger who embodies some of the most disturbing aspects of Chilean society and, particularly, the desire to exercise power over another, which manifests itself in different forms of violence.
El gran movimiento: A symphony of the city in the heights, the illness of a worker, the nightmare and his redemption.
